Welcome, ioControl 2.1

Our team has been working hard to improve the NexGen Storage System and is very happy to announce the upcoming release of ioControl version 2.1. We’ve packed a metric ton of features into this release and are excited to see our customers take advantage of our hard work. Here are a few of the highlights…
Performance intelligence
QoS reigns supreme within the n5 Storage System and our customers value the ability to control which applications have the highest priority within the system. Having the right intelligence on how your applications are performing allows administrators to have even more control and take the correct actions. To achieve this, we’ve expanded the built-in reporting functionality to include a ton of new stats
- Block size, queue depth, system response time as well as everyone’s favorites of IOPS and throughput
- Drill down into stats per volume, QoS policy, service level, NIC or host
- Historical reports from the last ten seconds to the dawn of time (+/- 14B years)
Storage QoS for VMware datastores
Integration with the management tools that our customer use on a daily basis has also been a high priority for our team and vCenter was the next logical step. Our vCenter plugin allows admins to do just about everything from a single console. Need a new datastore? Just make a few clicks and we’ll configure everything in accordance with our best practices. Need to increase the service level of a datastore within interruption? Again, just make a mouse clicks and you’re in business. Need to see how everything is performing? You get my point.
Dashboard efficiency reports
The NexGen n5 is built for solid-state efficiency and our new efficiency reports detail how each tier of the system is handling the workload. These quick little tidbits of intelligence give new insight into how our customer’s entire infrastructure leverages our inline pattern-matching, SSD and good old-fashion disks.
But wait, there’s more…
ioContorl 2.1, like any good software release, is packed with new features and we’d love you show you more.
